1. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account for yourself.
• Parents or legal guardians may create and manage accounts on behalf of minors where permitted by law.
• By using ScoutLocal, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal right to upload any content you submit.

2. Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• ScoutLocal reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. User Content

a. Ownership

You retain full ownership of all videos, images, and other content you upload ("User Content").

b. License to ScoutLocal

By uploading User Content, you grant ScoutLocal a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

ScoutLocal does not sell, license, or use your content for advertising purposes.

c. Content Accuracy

You agree not to:

• Misrepresent skills, attributes, age, or identity
• Upload misleading, deceptive, or spam content
• Upload content you do not have rights to

ScoutLocal reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

4. Video Storage & Retention

Privacy-First Approach: Unlike many platforms that retain your data indefinitely, ScoutLocal automatically deletes videos after 1 year as part of our commitment to data minimization and user privacy.

• All uploaded videos are automatically deleted after 1 year from the upload date.
• This 1-year retention period applies to all subscription plans.
• ScoutLocal is not responsible for retaining content beyond the 1-year retention period.
• This data-minimization approach is intentional and part of ScoutLocal's privacy-first design—we don't keep your data longer than necessary.

Why 1 year? We believe in protecting your privacy. Most recruitment decisions happen within months, not years. By automatically deleting old content, we minimize data storage and reduce privacy risks.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

• ScoutLocal may offer free and paid subscription plans.
• Payments are processed securely by third-party payment provider (Stripe).
• Subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by law.
• ScoutLocal reserves the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.

6. Use of the Platform

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes
• Harass, exploit, or impersonate others
• Attempt to scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the platform
• Upload offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content

ScoutLocal may remove content or restrict access at its discretion to maintain platform integrity.

7. Scouts, Managers & Visibility

ScoutLocal provides a platform to help users showcase themselves to potential scouts, managers, or teams.

ScoutLocal:

• Does not guarantee recruitment, selection, or contact
• Is not responsible for interactions that occur outside the platform

Users engage with others at their own risk.

8. Termination

ScoutLocal may suspend or terminate your account:

• For violation of these Terms
• For misuse of the Service
• At our discretion with or without notice

You may stop using the Service at any time.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

ScoutLocal is provided "as is" and "as available."

We make no guarantees that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Uploaded content will result in exposure, trials, or opportunities

Use of the Service is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScoutLocal shall not be liable for:

• Loss of data or content
• Missed opportunities or failed recruitment
• Indirect or consequential damages

ScoutLocal's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to ScoutLocal in the previous 12 months.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and handle personal data.

12. International Use

ScoutLocal operates globally. By using the Service, you consent to your data being processed in jurisdictions where ScoutLocal or its service providers operate.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
